Introduction to Civil Engineering

Civil engineering deals with the infrastructure required for basic necessities for the survival of mankind. It is supposed to be the oldest branch of engineering. It came into existence when human beings moved from their nomadic life to a protected sheltered place.
Civil engineering includes construction and maintenance of buildings, roads, bridges, railways, dams, canals etc.
Civil engineers play an important role in water distribution system and waste management.
